The conference brought together educators and education leaders from Australia, Malaysia and China to exchange expertise, strengthen VCE practice and explore global partnerships for shared success.
We were proud to host and co-organise the 2026 Peninsula Grammar VCE Offshore Conference from 9 to 11 July 2026.
This unique conference brought together teachers, students, leaders, and guests from Australia, Malaysia, and China to explore ‘Global Partnerships for Shared Success’. Hosting this year’s conference, for the first time in PISA’s history, provided every single one of our VCE teachers the opportunity to attend and benefit from this valuable professional development and networking. The benefit of this will be felt immediately, and for many years to come.
Numerous notable keynote speakers formed part of the programme, including senior staff from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
The conference commenced with a luncheon and welcome addresses, and a keynote address at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Setia Alam.
Thereafter, delegates transferred to the Peninsula International School Australia Campus for the official opening which was graced with a Gamelan Performance by our students under the expert tutelage of Mr Fazli.
Srii G. from Austrade presented, along with Bonnie Hermawan, Rachael Whittle PhD and Joanne Watkins from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, who offered deep insights into the mechanisms of the VCE and the opportunities made possible through the VCE Offshore programme.
We were privileged to hear from Kalanithi Muthu, PhD, Thanapprakash Rajindaran, and Melissa HE Chow during an impressive panel discussion on collaboration globally in a changing education landscape, and from Ms. Stella Lau, who has been a stable and strong advocate of education and our partnership in Malaysia. She is thanked for her fascinating, forward-thinking around AI and the innovation needed in schools. Aananthi Seventhy provided wonderful support in the conference planning stages and shared valuable insights into Australian university pathways for international students.
Additional highlights included demonstration lessons with our very own VCE students, and professional learning sessions led by the Peninsula Grammar transnational mentor team. They presented on the VCAA marking process, science skills, effective questioning, rethinking Chinese classical mythology, and skills to strengthen examination performance.
We are immensely grateful to the Principal of Peninsula Grammar, Mrs Leandra Turner, and to our long-standing friend and Director of Transnational Operations at Peninsula Grammar, Mrs Melissa Wolsley Findlay, for their enthusiastic support of our partnership, and for the opportunity to host this year’s conference.
